Bernadette's House (BH) is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment where girls can explore their interest and develop new skills. With the launch of "Girls, You Can Fly", BH provides an innovative summer program designed to empower young girls with hands-on flying lessons and a comprehensive exploration of STEM concepts through creative and experimental learning activities. This unique program not only teaches fundamentals of aeronautics, but also integrates drama and stage production, making it an enriching experience for all participants. This summer program aims to inspire confident and a passion for learning in young girls, encouraging them to pursue careers in STEM and the Arts.  See below for more details about planned activities:
  • Flight Lessons: Experience hands-on flying lessons and co-pilot an airplane
  • Flight Simulator: Practice using a simulator before taking off for real
  • Drama Club: Learn stage production, character study, acting, writing, storytelling, and more!
  • Creative Arts: Engage in makeup, hair, costuming, voice, and movement activities.
  • Professional Development: Nutrition, resume building, photo shoot for headshots.
  • Financial Literacy: Women executives from PNC Bank, will equip girls with money management education and tools to implement responsible planning for their future, enabling them to make informed decisions that impact their financial goals and career choices in aviation or other chosen paths.
